Duality or balance:

For centuries, earth has suffered an imbalance caused by egocentric men or if you prefer, their self-centredness. The sufferance comes from civilisations of dominating men who completely lost their spiritual balance. Most men on the planet are infected by the ‘I DON’T CARE’ syndrome. Man keeps looking towards politics, economy and war to resolve their problems. Our Mother Earth continues to suffer from our way of instability until she decides to fight back, eliminate human life if necessary, in order to heal and come back to a state of equilibrium and start over again.

According to ancient legends of the Turtle Island people, (North America), there were, before our world as we know it, three other civilizations that were completely destroyed which is said to belong to Emus and Atlantis. We are the fourth civilisation on this planet. Certain people believe that we are destroying the planet. Man’s inflated ego is a symptom nourished by their complex of ‘I AM GOD’. We have abused our power by destroying ourselves. Even if it annoys the CEO, the multinationals and our governments, earth will survive I can guarantee this. The economy will fall, politicians will no longer be effective, firearms will be destroyed, children will die and money will not be of much help, money cannot wipe your desperate tears away.

But one thing will stay the same; earth will always be there and will survive. She will heal, even if it takes thousands or even millions of years to get rid of all the dirt and destruction caused throughout the history of humanity. This is a short time on the scale of life for the plant earth.

Since the time of the ancients, my ancestors were always seen as the guardians of earth. We do not believe that earth belongs to all. We know that we belong to the earth.  We know, and this has been part of our education, that all things and all beings in nature are in perpetual conflict whether it be positive or negative, masculine or feminine, beauty or ugliness, life or death, good or evil. This duality is present in each form of existence, whether it is the simplest atom to the biggest mass in the universe. This duality exists also with the Creator.

We know the Creator as masculine and feminine but we have taken the habit of forgetting the feminine part of the Great Spirit (God). We have been so influenced by the dominating society that we allow our negative tendencies to plunge further and further towards imbalance.  In all history, civilisations that engaged in this tendency and in the belief of the dominating society, who throughout the myths, legends and religious scriptures, have described God as purely male. They said that God made man in his image and afterwards, He made woman, to be submissive and of service to man. Many people believe that it was the woman who brought evil, pain and sufferance in the world pretending that woman was the source of sin.  They used this as an excuse not only to dominate and control woman but also to belittle everything that was feminine including Mother Earth.

This influenced man to be controlled by the brains’ left hemisphere which governs the center of reason, of conduct and control. Society worshiped the masculine functions which are mathematics, science, and military strategies, economic or political. They have added God to this pattern. They allow less importance to feminine aspects like intuition, education, placing children above all other priorities in order to provide them with a guarantee for a better and harmonious life. My ancestors recognized the masculine and feminine duality in the Creator. The sacred pipe was brought by a woman. The sacred rituals were done by women. Interiorly we do not feel our masculine aspect is threatened by honouring women. Because we honor the feminine energy, we are capable of respecting our Mother Earth. We also regard our children as the greatest gift from the Creator. Political and social decisions, according to the standards, are best for the future generations and the new ere that has arrived.  We live knowing that when we leave this earth our grandchildren will find it in the same condition as our grandparents had left it for us. Stability, harmony, purity and health, voila, this is the secret to live a good life in abundance, joy and happiness.

Lots of people believe that their religion is the only real and true religion and that they should practice this universal religion.  This has everything to do with power, riches and world domination and does not have anything to do with spirituality. This belief brought on wars, imprisonment, torture and murder as well as violation of our rights and the most sacred gift God had given to man, freedom of awareness, as far as the question of spirituality is concerned, and of the power of choice.  Many people believe in the philosophy ‘NEW AGE’ that consists of the fabrication of a religion, really a mixture of all religions, which is said to be the most precise and best philosophy. They proclaim that they respect all religions, which in fact they already disrespect them by regarding them as a supermarket of beliefs which they can make their own religious or spiritual mixture. I believe that many religions in the world are further from spiritual truth and this even happens in Canada. We have not lost our teachings but we no longer live by them.

There are a few basic spiritual truths that all people should follow in order to manage their own religious beliefs or follow their own spiritual path. First important point to remember: All that is created by God is Sacred. Second most important point to remember: All that is created by man is not. Earth was created by God, therefore is sacred. Frontiers and governments were created to serve the interests of man and thus are not sacred. The highest and the most noble can be corrupt. The most powerful and the strongest can become weak and fall. Man can change, corrupt, destroy and reconstruct them. God’s world continues with or without them. Resources and riches of the world were created by God, they are sacred. The animals, plants, trees, air, water, and even man were all created by God and therefore are sacred. Governments, economical systems, taxes, all the different types of permits, income tax, the stock exchange, modern complexity, the laws, democracy, the army and political structures were all made by man to serve their interests, therefore are not sacred.

A small group of people can therefore increase their material possessions while many others suffer. A different form of life disappears ever day because of these same people. They continue on their paths of destruction to gain egoistically, power and profits, until they themselves can no longer survive with their own mountain of garbage, and they leave behind, a planet unliveable for future generations to come. God’s world purifies and heals itself. It is not for us to decide that one form of life is more sacred than another.

We should learn to live without spending more than what we need. You eat your steak but you do not see the cattle in your plate and when you are no longer hungry, you throw the rest in your garbage without even taking the time to thank God for your food nor the animals who nourished you. You are not happy with your lives, so you work for all kinds of useless things and you forget to work on the essential, which of course is yourself, God, Mother Earth and your neighbour. You are so unhappy in your lives that you consume your emotions, your anger and frustrations, so that most of you have weight problems.  Obesity is a flaw of this century. Unhappy people eat their emotions. You‘re always running after needless things and you forget who you really are. To compensate your pain and your mal de vive, you begin to use tobacco, drugs, alcohol, artificial pleasures, sex, money, search for power and control as well as food. Not surprising that the food that you eat is poisoning you more every day, by all kinds of cancers and mysterious sickness because you are not happy or respectful towards creation and yourself.

You hit an animal with your vehicle and you don’t even stop to remove it from the road. You leave it there, alone and sometimes agonising for hours just to be crushed again by other vehicles. This behaviour shows that you have no respect for life and/or for God’s creation.  You hunt or fish and you don’t take the time to thank the animals’ spirit for the gift of their life and by doing so you are also thanking God. You say you think that taking the life of an animal is not worse or better than taking the life of a tree or any kind of plant. Know that this is completely false. It is a living thing just like you and even though it does not have the same shape or degree of intelligence, it is a fact that it is still a living thing created by God and therefore is just like you, a sacred being. This passes between your two ears. You have and possess everything, power of choice, which is to be respectful, aware and thankful. But you have also the choice to close your eyes and destroy, just like idiots know how to do.

Now that you are aware, I hope that some among you will think twice before you eat your barbecued T-bone.  From now on instead of throwing the rest of your T-bone in the garbage because you are no longer hungry, why not say a prayer thanking God and the animal that nourished you. Put the rest of your steak on a plate at the foot of a tree behind your house thanking also the earth for giving you this food so generously.

Every day and night, the guardians of the Indian traditions, pray for humanity,  animals, plants, to those who are in the spirit world, to those who are still not born, the earth, the water, the fire and the air. We pray for the animals when we take their lives for food. We pray for the plants when we pick them for ceremonies and for healing. We believe that all things created by God are sacred and being part of creation, we are also sacred. Each time we pray, we always finish our prayers by these words; for all my relatives or for all of mine.  With this little phrase we pray for all things. Therefore be respectful of life, recognise, thank and pray for all things and you will walk in equilibrium in your lives.

Happy trails on your path of life.
