Environmental problems:
Sharon and I, began in the field of
alternative medicine, shared the opinion that a person’s health
is closely linked to the environment and the state of the entire
planet. It is important to have proper nutrition and good air
quality to stay healthy however with dangerous chemicals and
industrial products being dumped on our soil, along with acid
rain, they can only deteriorate the quality of our lives. All
around the world, the threat, related to the environmental
hygiene weighs heavily on us all. It is a bit late to isolate
and treat these problems locally.
Contrary to the expectations and expressed
hopes of the 1980’s, the international efforts were not
sufficient to fight effectively against world destruction. The
environmental issues touch more and more the populations’ health
as well as their quality of life. It is therefore difficult to
recommend, indeed, adopt preventive health measures, when our
soil, the water we drink and the air we breathe are seriously
altered. The main obstacle encountered in the decision-making is
without a doubt, the intimate inter-relationship that exists
between the ecologic, economic and social problems.
The governments understood that answers could
not come from just one level, but that it was necessary to react
globally by adopting innovating attitudes, envisioning long term
policies and to explore different methods of action. Countries
in the process of development suffer from desertion or
depopulation and deterioration of the forests as well as the
increase of pollution. They are the ones who suffer the most
from poverty that causes environment degradation. Industrial
countries have also suffered heavy consequences from this
dilapidation, the loss of animal species and vegetation, along
with the change in the precipitation systems. They are also
threatened by the fatal toxic residues, soil acidification as
well as atmospheric pollution.
The real danger is the ever present
Multinationals, who control three quarters of the planets
resources. They want this fierce and excessive globalization at
all cost. They have the support of our governments and they are
the ones who are pulling the strings. We are only their puppets.
The elections and your votes do not have the weight to elect a
government, this is pretence. What elects a government is the
amount of money the Multinationals put out, behind the scenes,
to political parties, in exchange for legal, economic and
environmental favours. More and more company CEO’s are going
into politics and getting elected; they are the most dangerous
because they often make decisions that have advantages for the
Multinationals and a disadvantage to the simple citizen and the
environment. They buy their permits to pollute and our
governments are more that willing to sell at a modest price.
For example do you know that in the U.S.?
George W. Bush, President of the United
States is: Founder of Arbusto
Energy Inc. President of Spectrum 7 Energy Corporation Member
of the administrative counsel for Harken Energy Corporation
These companies focus on oil.
Dick Cheney, General Director:
of the oil company, Harliburton.
Condoleezza Rice, U.S. State Secretary: Member
of the administrative counsel for the Chevron Company.
Donald Evans, U.S. Secretary of Commerce:
General Director of Tom Brown
Company – which is an oil & natural gas company.
Andrew Card, U.S. Secretary of Security:
Principal lobbyist of General
Motors in Washington. President of American Automobile
Manufacturers Association.
Money invested in the Republican Party during
the 2000 elections:
Enron Oil 1.71
million
Exon Mobile Oil 1.21
million
Southern (Electricity) 1.04
million
Chevron Oil
$770,000.00
General motors $467,124.00
Texaco Oil $353,000.00
Peabody Energy
(coal) $ 65,700.00
Millions of U.S. dollars were invested in the
Republican Party during the 2000 U.S. elections by these
companies. All are energy companies and are mostly directors
that are part of the actual American government in the White
House. Are you surprised that there is war presently in Iraq?
The reason: OIL. The chemical and biological arms were only a
pretext to invade Iraq. Terrorist war is only pretence to secure
and control the oil in the Middle East. Innocent men, women and
children die each day all because of the oil. They don’t give a
damn that women, children and solders, have died. They don’t
give a damn for air pollution or the deterioration of the world.
All they want is the almighty dollar and power, in order to
control the people with their savage and unjust globalization.
They are the dangerous ones. The same happens here in Canada but
on a smaller scale.
A large majority of the world’s population
live in poverty and have no social security, they can’t fill
their stomachs and they live in shacks without clean water to
drink. The unrestricted looting of the resources in the northern
countries, the rampant poverty of the south are threats to
growth. This inequality constitutes a major obstacle. Evidence
shows what the weight of debt has on poor countries and the
controlled exportation of their resources really means
over-exploitation of their precious natural resources. They then
follow with a short term policy that endangers the balance of
our planet on the whole. In effect, the depopulation or
deterioration of the forests in the poor countries will not
remain an isolated phenomenon but will also have its
repercussions on the ecosystems of the said rich countries. The
gases in the atmosphere do not have a limited territory and the
perverse effects that thin the ozone layers touch every
individual on this earth.
Even in Lake Manouane we are starting to feel
the effects that are more and more evident. I invite you to
continue to read the next pages in order to better understand
the environmental issues that the Lake Manouane region is
presently suffering. Afterwards, judge by yourself if I am off
target or if I am a man with planetary and universal
consciousness.
